Events and Programs

The Paly PTSA hosts and co-hosts with other Paly and Community organizations several events and programs throughout the school year.

2024-2025 PAUSD Calendar

August – Welcome Back to School!

  • Student Class Schedules will be published to the Student’s InfiniteCampus account (not to the parent’s account).
  • PTSA’s weekly eNewsletter is published via ParentSquare. All parents and guardians, as well as all Paly Teachers and Staff, receive the weekly eNews.
  • For Freshmen and all First-Year Students/Transfers Orientation. For Students only. Hosted by school administration and the student-led Link team, all students who are new to Palo Alto High School are invited to attend Orientation.
  • For Parents of Freshmen and Transfers. After Student Orientation, you and your student are invited join our PTSA Outreach team on the Quad for a pizza dinner and informal tours around campus. “Veteran” parents will be available to answer questions.
  • Back To School Luncheon. Hosted by the PTSA Hospitality team and parent volunteers, we treat our wonderful staff of 240 teachers and support staff to an amazing Luncheon to start off their school year.
  • First Day of School! Please note there is no formal School Supply List – students may choose to bring their own backpack, lunch, water bottle, and writing implements to school. Funding for all other school supplies are provided by the District, as well as by generous donations to the PTSA from parents like you.
  • Bike Repair Station. Co-hosted by the PTSA, PTA Council, the City of Palo Alto, Paly Administration, and our vendor. Students may sign up to have basic maintenance and repairs done on their bike. Funding for this program is from the City of Palo Alto.
  • Parent Fair. The Parent Fair is hosted by the PTSA Events team, along with the Student Council and dozens of Paly organizations. Parents are invited to tour through informational booths to learn more about the many student organizations, groups, and clubs. Light appetizers and drinks will be served.
  • Back To School Night. After the Parent Fair, Paly school administration and teachers host Back To School Night. Parents are invited to follow their student’s school schedule to each of their classrooms to meet their teachers.
  • Parent Network Socials. Hosted by the PTSA Outreach team, Parent Network volunteers organize social events by class for parents and students to reconnect with old friends and to hopefully make new ones.

SEPTEMBER and OCTOBER

  • Throughout September and October, school administration and the PTSA Outreach team will host Parent/Guardian Informational Meetings by grade. Administrators will present an overview of academic and campus events; the PTSA Outreach team will host a Parent Panel to answer questions from the audience.
  • PSAT for Juniors. Organized by school administrators and funded by the PTSA from generous donations of parents like you. All Juniors are scheduled to take the PSAT during regular school hours.
  • SPIRIT WEEK! Organized by the Paly Student Council, with support from school administration and the PTSA, all students participate in a week of fun-filled days and nights, culminating in the Homecoming Game and Homecoming Dance.
  • Parent Education. The PTSA Parent Education team, in conjunction with Gunn HS’s, PTA Council’s, and the District’s Parent Ed team, host Parent Education seminars.

NOVEMBER and DECEMBER, aka FEASTS and FINALS

  • Staff Appreciation – Diwalloween. Join our PTSA Hospitality team as they host a Staff Appreciation event combining Diwali and Dias de los Muertos traditions.
  • Turkey Feast. Join us as the PTSA co-hosts with District Food Services and Paly Administrators a massive Turkey Feast for all of the Paly students and staff (~1800 people).
  • Staff Appreciation – Holiday Party. Join our PTSA Hospitality team as they host a fantastic Holiday Luncheon for our Staff as appreciation for their work during the Fall Semester.
  • Finals! Join us in handing out healthy snacks and giving an encouraging word to our students as they head into their Finals.

SPRING

  • Throughout January and February, school administration and the PTSA Outreach team host Parent/Guardian Informational Meetings by grade. Administrators will present an overview of academic and campus events; the PTSA Outreach team will host a Parent Panel to answer questions from the audience.
  • Nomination Season! Are you interested in joining the PTSA Board to help shape the programs and events for the 2025-2026 school year? Please reach out to our Parliamentarian to express your interest or to ask any questions you may have.
  • Staff Appreciation. Join our PTSA Hospitality team as they host 3 events throughout the Spring semester to thank our amazing staff of 240 teachers, aides, support staff, and administrators.
  • Grad Week 2025. Information for Grad Week 2025 will be shared in late Fall 2024.
